WCV Children's Ministry exists to
Welcome to WCV Kid's Church!God has entrusted us with the vision you see above you - it's a big one and it's an important one! We invite you and your children to join us in building a place that is truly safe, where kids actually meet Jesus, where they learn and practice living out the Kingdom of God as He described it, and they discover that even though they're small, they can extend God's justice on the earth!
Kid's Church happens every Sunday morning from September - June during the message. If you're interested, come and join us! If your kids come for a visit, you'll need to fill out our little visitor's registration form. Once you've come for awhile and you want your child on our sign-in sheet, you can fill out the registration form. Just make sure you've let us know you've done it, so we can pull your information and add your child to the list. More info: What happens at WCV Kid's ChurchWe've discovered that every class should have the following components that spell the word HEAL:
Holy Spirit empowered. We want him to do work in the kids before, during and after our time together. So we spend time each week asking him. Experiential - while it's good to learn about Jesus, we want kids to do practice being like him. Each class should have some activity where they get to try what they've learned, even if it's just in a small way.
Applicable to their everyday life. Kids are very concrete, so we need to tell them in clear kid language how this relates to them. We've learnt that it helps to tell stories of when we were kids - the kids love to hear those! Love and laughter - if we love kids, if we provide fun and laughter, they'll feel the presence of Jesus. It's hard to say no to the presence of Jesus for long. It's our goal to make it so parents have to bring their kids to church because they kids beg them to go! So we make sure each class has time where we connect with them relationally and times of just pure fun!
What does that mean?How do we build a safe place that invites all kids to worship Jesus as they embrace a kingdom lifestyle that extends God's justice on the earth? Well, kids in Kid's Church learn how to ...worship Him!
...copy Him! They think like He does, hear his voice, and heal, just as he did! ...and walk with Him, extending His justice wherever they go!
